I enrolled in Milrd’s Metagenomics Virtual Training Project because I am interested in conducting metagenomic analysis in our own projects. The part of their program that I like the most is their program’s structure, hybrid AI-human platform, with unlimited mentor support and cohort discussion.

The VTP workload was enough to learn a lot over the course of a week. The unlimited support was also customized, flexible, and super helpful. For example, I was curious about the differences between an algorithm used in the VTP and another algorithm that performs a similar function. Milrd kindly installed the other algorithm on the AWS instance I was assigned so I could run it with the same samples in the case study and compare results.
